I'm about to admit a very unpopular opinion: I've never cared for "Doctor Zhivago", mainly because I feel too sorry for Yuri (Omar Sharif)'s wife Tonya (the lovely Geraldine Chaplin) to care about his affair with Lara (Julie Christie). Call me unromantic, call me priggish, but that's just how I feel (plus, I find the movie as a whole boring).
